Questions about the Terminal to Terminal Service

What do I pack my things in? Plastic totes work real well, cardboard cartons, suitcases are good or use footlockers or shipping trunks. Make sure everything has your name on it and is taped well shut.
What are the limits? Only limits are that everything has to be in boxes or if you have small furniture wrap it in bubble wrap and then cover it in cardboard.
What does Terminal to Terminal mean? It means you drop it off at a nearby terminal and then collect it at a terminal near your destination. You do have to arrange Customs Clearance though at the destination and pay some port and handling fees before you can collect the items. The shipping agent though that notifies you when your cargo arrives can normally arrange customs clearance for you. You can expect to pay about the equivalent of $100 for customs clearance plus the port fees.
How much are the port fees? These do vary but expect to pay around $2.00 per cubic foot
What's the maximum size I can send on this service? As long as its all in boxes as much as you like but if you have more than about 400 cubic feet its worth looking at our self loading 20 ft container service.
What if my shipment is larger than this? Call or email us and we will work our a special rate for you.
How do I work out cubic feet? Stack all your boxes in a big square on the floor. Measure the length, width and height of your stack and multiply the Length x Width x Height together in feet to get cubic feet, or if you multiply length width and height in inches divide by 1728 to get cubic feet.
So how do I book this? You can book by clicking on the BOOK NOW link in blue writing on your quote. Completing our online booking system makes sure we have all the correct information.
Once booked what happens  We send you the address to take the shipment to, plus give you the shipping booking number, labels for you to stick on your boxes and all relevant instructions as well as a contract so you know exactly what we are going to charge and what we are going to do for that charge.
And Then.......? You take your shipment to the terminal, they will sign the receipt that we emailed you, they will load all the items onto a pallet, shrink wrap it and then send us the dimensions of the pallet so we know the final volume of the shipment. We will then get it shipped to the destination terminal and the local shipping agent will contact you beforehand to advise you of the eta so you can then start the process of getting the shipment cleared through customs.
When do I pay? We email you an invoice once we receive your shipment at the shipping terminal and have been advised by the terminal the exact dimensions of your shipment once loaded onto a pallet and shrink wrapped..
How do I pay? You can mail to us, scan and email or fax us a check or if you want to use a credit card we do charge an extra 5% processing fee.  You can also send a wire transfer.
What cant I ship? Check on line with the local customs authority but in general, do not ship any liquids, hazardous materials, drugs or medicine, jewelry, guns, ammunition, pornography, xxx rated DVD's

Why is this so cheap? We are probably the largest baggage company in the US and therefore get good discounts with carriers plus we have our own operations in major markets which all help to keep the costs down.
Does this cheap rate effect your service levels? Not at all, we are very conscious of our good name in the market place as well as numerous community web sites and we want to keep it that way. We have many repeat customers and get a lot of our business from personal recommendations. Providing great customer service linked to an economical shipping service is what we strive for every day.
