| Can
we ship motorcycles? We can ship to
arrival port of entry terminal or through
to door. Just add on additional $300 to
cover extra customs procedures & AES |
|
| Do
rates include THC? All rates
through to door include THC |
|
| Do
rates include full delivery? Yes
but they wont unpack PBO cartons or put
together complicated furniture, just the
basic stuff. Australian agents do not
unpack cartons in their normal rates. |
|
| How
often are your sailings? We sail to
Europe every week, sometimes twice a week,
The other destinations are 2-3 weeks |
|
| What
about transit times? Allow roughly
2 weeks upon arrival for customs clearance
and delivery to residence |
|
| Does
the season effect transit times?
Yes it can, Obviously Christmas time can
be difficult as long distance drivers need
to be home with their families too. Also
sometimes in the late summer it can get so
busy there just aren't enough trucks to
keep up with the deliveries. |

Whats the difference between LCL and
Groupage? In my mind LCL sails
weekly at a fairly good rate but you will
get ripped off at destination by paying
all kinds of extra THC related charges
before your agent can collect the cargo at
destination. Groupage is a more economic
rate and is fully inclusive through to
door, however the only way to make money
is by keeping, trucks and containers full,
(Its a volume game) so if there is not
enough shipments for one particular
destination then the shipment might
have to sit for a while before moving to
keep the costs down. |
| Why
cant it be delivered the day after its
customs cleared? Most of the trucks
in Europe are out for between 7-14 days
and carry about 3000-3500 cubic feet, so
we work on the schedule at least a week in
advance before it departs organizing all
the deliveries and collections. This does
take time so the chances of a shipment
departing straight after its customs
cleared is slim but if there is room and
the trucks going past that persons door it
can happen. |

| Is
Rate Mate modeled after someone?
Some people say that he looks a bit like
an ex British Management Employee but any
likeness is pure random speculation. |
